Sony VAIO VGP-AMB12 Canvas Urban Messenger Bag for up to 18.4-Inch LCD Notebooks (Black) Review

The bag fits my HP HDX 18t with room to spare, which garners more stars just for that, but I'll be adding some more padding at the bottom of the laptop pocket seeing as how there's limited protection there (the two bottom corners of the laptop are particularly vulnerable).
Definitely not the best bag I've used (lots of pockets and room for accessories and more, but buckles etc. not as intuitively placed), but for fitting the newer 18.4" laptops out there, there's still not that many options out there for bags that a) are big enough and b) don't look like the typical black leather laptop bag.
Considering the other options out there, I'd still probably purchase it again, but it doesn't wow me.

Sony VGP-AMC8 VAIO Neoprene Case for AW Series (Black) Review

Sony VGP-AMC8 VAIO Neoprene Case for AW Series (Black)

Obviously it'll fit the larger 18.4" VAIO AW series comfortably. I personally would've liked a bit of a tighter, snuglier fit, but that's just me. The price is quite reasonble for a usually-more-expensive Sony branded accessory, particularly considering it includes an additional pouch for the power supply.
It'll do the job of protecting your laptop from scratches between meetings or whatever, but try finding a good case for it (and I must emphasize on the "try" part 'cause due to the AW's size it's extremely difficult to find a case where it'll fit).

Sony VGP-CCP5/R VAIO Deluxe Backpack for AW series (Red) Review

This is the bag you want for a VAIO 18.5" laptop. It fits perfectly and for a laptop this big and heavy you want the added support of three straps(two shoulder, one waist) that come with this backpack style bag. It's really well padded and has some pretty decent compartments for carrying books, folders, pens, portfolios, power supply, etc. It could use a couple more organizational zippered pockets if anything.

Sony VAIO VGP-CCP3/H Computer Backpack Review

Sony VAIO VGP-CCP3/H Computer Backpack

I travel by air twice a month. Every time through the airport, I had to carry a conventional briefcase type laptop bag and backpack to bring all my belongings and peripherals. The old bag didn't even have room to fit the power cord or trackball. With this new backpack, I can fit everything I had in BOTH my old bags and it is much more organized so cables don't get all tangled either. The laptop section is padded and has a strap to secure the laptop. It fits perfectly (I have a VAIO 15.4" monitor, VGN-NR240E). In the same pocket there is another pouch for carrying bulky items. There is a second large zippered portion with two mesh zippered pockets in it for segregating smaller items. On the outside front there are two external zippered pouches, one with a zippered mesh pouch and one with an elastic mesh pouch for items you need to get quickly. The second external pouch has a slot for for papers it looks like, three pen straps, three business cars or credit card holders, two elastic straps for holding things in place and the keyring caribiner clip. There is padding on the edges where the sides contact your back and it is very comfortable even when just slung over one arm. It has very heavy duty construction and stitching, with reinforcement on high stress areas. All external zippered pouches have two zips, are heavy duty, and have large teeth for easy function. With the way most products are fabricated cheaply nowadays, it was really so much more than I expected. The designers apparently thought this product through and made sure shortcuts weren't taken in design and fabrication. I love mine. If you carry a briefcase style laptop bag and another bag to carry the rest of what you need, you will be impressed by this bag's capability and ease of use! Thanks for reading my review.
