First hard drive failures was in June 2010. 5 drive failures later and Sony support won't admit that anything else is wrong with it, nor will they exchange the unit. Countless hours wasted reloading my data, trying to educate a "support tech" who knows less about computers than I do, boundless frustration that the robotic script they follow will offer no option but to replace the hard drive. AGAIN. Despite the fact it is statistically impossible that I could have this many bad drives in a row. And I now read this is a common problem for newer Vaio models, something support never revealed.
Save yourself money-- you can buy an equivalent computer for around 2/3 the cost that will actually work. Never been so disappointed in a company as I am in Sony.
