Sony SRS T33 - Portable speakers - 0.36 Watt (total) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I needed a set of very portable speakers that would fit into my laptop bag that would also improve the sound over the built-in speakers. I am very happy with these speakers.
The Pro's: 1) These speakers provide much more solid and direct sound than my built-in laptop speakers. 2) They perform surprising well in passive mode, but I believe they sound slightly better when powered by batteries. 3) Very portable, no extra adapter to lug around, speakers cannot fall over if sitting on an unstable surface. Will sit on most laptop computers out of the way above the keyboard if desk space is really limited or unavailable. However, music sounds better if the speaker is sitting on the desk next to the computer. 4) Seem durable and well built to last. Nothing sticking out to break off. Power switch not likely to get bumped and turned on while riding in your pack.
The Con's: 1) No built in volume control. You must use your computers mixer/volume control. 2) Audio is a little compressed sounding. This is ok for movies because you can hear the dialog better. But for music, if you have a graphic equalizer on your music player you can make them sound a LOT better than just feeding them flat audio. 3) No auto power off -- If you don't switch off the power the batteries will run down when not in use.
Just to summarize. Don't think that your're going to listen to music through these while your raking leaves in the back yard. These are small speakers! If your unhappy with the sound quality and level from your laptop speakers and you want a boost without the typical hassels of exernal speakers then you will be happy with these.

Sony SRS-P7 Passive Speaker System with Stereo Mini-Plug Input Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you're looking for small speakers at this price range, you shouldn't be expecting much. Given that, these light and small speakers do just the trick for the office if you want to listen to music sans headphones but not loud enough to get on your coworkers' nerves. Plus, these speakers don't need a dedicated power source and can run off the juice running through the input line. But like all disapproving homeboys, a little bass to shake some booty in the cubicle would've been nice.

Sony SRST1 Computer Speakers Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought my first one of these about ten years ago (to give you an idea of how long that is, the instructions show you how to connect it to your Walkman). It's still going strong. I bought a second one because Amazon (actually Wall Street photo) offered me a great deal, and it's worth having a spare.
Out of the box the speakers sound terrible. You need to kick up the bass on your player, and tweak the positioning a bit (the tweeters fold down, so you can face them in the same direction as the bass, or backwards). The system actually sounds best on a bookshelf (to give it some additional resonance), and, depending on the music, it may also be best to fold down the tweeters and let them bounce off the back. It's also optimized for voice range, so folk and swing sound better than heavy metal or disco.
Cosmetically, the speaker isn't pretty (not so much retro as orthopedic). So?

Sony Srsm30Whi Travel Speakers (White) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I travel a lot and love to be able to listen to music once I'm back in the hotel room. Before finding these speakers, the only options I had was to either lug my heavy & bulky iHome with me (which took up precious space in my bag) or listen to music via my headphones, which feels really weird when you're alone in a hotel room. So needless to say, these speakers were both a great find & purchase. You don't need a docking station in order to listen to your iPod. Once I opened the box, I was listening to my iPod within seconds. Great volume, great price, very compact, weighs less than a pound and can run off of three AAA batteries. If you're looking for a rich wall of sound, then this is not the item for you. The sound is on the tinny side and it also doesn't charge your mp3 player, so you will need a separate charger.
All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend these speakers for those looking a valued priced, entry level set of travel speakers.

These Sony battery powered portable speakers are designed for some big sound! They are compatible with all mp3 players or anything with a headphone input. The included AC adapter helps keep the music flowing if those batteries are out of juice.

Sony SRS-T100PC Travel Speakers with USB-Supplied Power and Signal Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I am an instructor. I needed a speaker system with a very small profile for international air travel. A friend of mine, who works for a major computer company, recommended these due to their size (though he did warn me the sound quality is average).
The speakers are indeed small & light - and they conveniently fit into my computer bag.
The sound is average, as I was warned.
The UBS connection cable is too short - which is an inconvenience.
But most disturbingly, the third time I used these they stopped working properly. Unfortunately it was 2-weeks past my warranty period. Their malfunction may have been a coincidence, but under the circumstances I cannot recommend these. Even when they did work, the sound wasn't up-to-par.
Do yourself a favor: look for an alternate model (there are many choices out there, in prices that range from $30 - $80). Just remember to go with a USB-powered model (USB power is a MUST!).

Sony SRSM50/BLK Compact, Stylish, Transportable Speaker (Black) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I researched and researched different sites for speakers that would work in my office. I did not want a tinny sound and wanted sleek looking and discreet speakers. These are perfect!! The sound is very impressive for their size and produce a good sound and volume for an office. Of course they aren't meant to be your main speakers for your home system but in a kitchen, office, or by the bathtub...great!!!! They aren't tinny and don't distort and I can crank the volume and bass sometimes. So I would highly recommend anyone buy these speakers. In fact, I may get a second set for my office at home.

Sony ALTUS ALT-SA32PC - Wireless PC multimedia speakers Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Overall, the reason I bought this set was because I was drawn in by the wireless feature of this system. It ultimately delivers on this aspect, but the product does have some shortcomings. Here are some pros and cons
PROS
- GREAT price offered on Amazon(one of the biggest pros...I think if you buy it from [...] Buy it is probably $250.
- The wireless speakers are pretty attractive and have a nice sleek, polished look
- Relatively easy to set up - if you just want to play from your PC directly
- Wireless signal is great; I put one upstairs in my room and there was no interference
CONS
- speaker quality is mediocre; namely, the bass power on these guys is weak - but it is expected. However, as long as your house isn't too large, the sound should travel well enough
- In order to play your iTunes playlists directly off the components themselves, need to spend some time setting up the system. Even when you do, the interface isn't really isn't as straightforward to use as I would have liked.
- Power outlets for each speaker unit are pretty large (minor)
Overall, decent product, but definitely not perfect; you get what you pay for!
